Voting eligibility

The Municipal Elections Act 1996 sets the rules for municipal elections, including who is eligible to vote. To cast a ballot in the upcoming by-election, you must be:

  • A Canadian citizen

  • At least 18 years old

  • A resident of the City of Mississauga or a non-resident, but you or your spouse own or rent property in Mississauga
